It is a medium to tall tree with grayish bark, oval and serrated leaves, pink and white flowers, and fruits with abundant white lenticels. Being partially self-sterile, it requires other pollinators for fruiting. The Kissabel Apple has three main varieties distinguished by skin and pulp color: Kissabel Rouge, Kissabel Orange, and Kissabel Jaune.

Exquisite Recipe: Baked Chicken with Kissabel Apple

Ingredients:

  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 2 Kissabel Apples
  • 1 onion
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 tablespoon of chopped fresh rosemary
  • 1/2 cup of chicken broth
  • Olive oil
  • Salt and ground black pepper

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C.
  2. Peel and chop the onion and garlic. Cut the Kissabel Apples into thin slices.
  3. In a pan, heat a little olive oil and sauté the onion and garlic until golden.
  4. Add the apple slices to the pan and cook for a few minutes until they soften slightly.
  5. Add the chopped rosemary and the juice of half a lemon to the onion and apple mixture. Season to taste.
  6. Place the chicken breasts in a baking dish and season to taste.
  7. Add the onion and apple mixture over the chicken breasts and distribute evenly.
  8. Pour the chicken broth into the dish.
  9. Bake for approximately 30-35 minutes, until the chicken is cooked, and the apples are golden.
  10. Serve hot and enjoy this delicious dish of chicken with Kissabel Apples.
